Guidelines for Parents & Guardians

Guidelines for Parents & Guardians

At Christ the King Senior Secondary International School (CIS), we believe that education is a shared responsibility between the school and parents. To ensure a holistic and disciplined learning environment, we request full cooperation from parents in all matters related to their child’s academic, moral, and personal development.

Parental Responsibilities & Cooperation

  • Parents and teachers work towards a common goal of holistic child development—academically, physically, mentally, and morally. We seek active parental support in fostering these values.
  • Check your child's school diary daily for remarks, messages, and homework updates. Acknowledge them with your signature as proof of communication.
  • Send your child to school only if they are physically fit to attend the full school day.
  • Half-day leave is not permitted unless there is a genuine emergency. Parents should avoid disturbing school hours with leave requests.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Regular attendance is essential. If your child is absent, an absence note must be recorded in the school diary. Parents must inform the school in advance about any planned leave.

School Discipline & Rules Compliance

  • Parents should cooperate with school authorities and staff to maintain discipline, ensuring their child studies regularly at home, attends school punctually, and completes assigned work.
  • Good habits in studies, morality, food, and health must be encouraged at home to reinforce what is taught at school.
  • Ensure your child brings proper meals and water in a lunch box that is easy to open.
  • Bringing weapons or sharp objects such as blades or knives is strictly prohibited.

Academic & Uniform Requirements

  • Parents must ensure that their child has all textbooks, stationery, and craft materials at the start of the academic session.
  • Cover all books and notebooks with brown paper to maintain uniformity.
  • Students must wear the proper school uniform daily, with polished shoes, trimmed hair, and clean nails.
  • Notify the school immediately in case of any change in address or phone number.

Interaction with Teachers & Staff

  • Parents should not walk into classrooms or disturb teachers during school hours. Meetings with teachers should be scheduled through the Principal’s office.
  • Students should be taught to respect classmates, teachers, non-teaching staff, and senior students.

Strict Prohibitions & Disciplinary Actions

  • Any form of academic dishonesty, bullying, ragging, stalking, verbal or non-verbal harassment, or physical disrespect will result in severe disciplinary action, including removal from the school.
  • Parents displaying an unhealthy and continuous critical attitude towards the school may cause their child’s removal from school rolls, as such negativity impacts the child’s perception of teachers and school management.

By following these guidelines, parents and the school can work together to create a disciplined, positive, and enriching educational environment for every student at CIS.
