Formative & Summative Assessments Plan
At Christ the King Senior Secondary International School, we implement a well-structured assessment system to evaluate students' academic progress effectively. Our approach includes both *Formative and Summative Assessments, ensuring a balance between continuous learning and final evaluations.
In Semester I, Formative Assessment I takes place in July, incorporating pen-paper tests, group and individual activities, assignments, projects, quizzes, and skill assessments. This method encourages students to engage actively in learning and improve their understanding of concepts.
In September, Summative Assessment I is conducted through a pen-paper test, assessing students' comprehension and retention of the curriculum taught during the first term.
Semester II follows a similar structure, with Formative Assessment II in December, focusing on interactive learning activities, projects, quizzes, and skill-based evaluations to reinforce knowledge and application.
Finally, in March, Summative Assessment II is conducted with a pen-paper test, measuring the overall academic performance of students for the academic year.
This comprehensive evaluation system ensures that students not only gain conceptual clarity but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, preparing them for future academic and career success.
